You are welcome to bring your own boat. You can launch it at the Baileys Harbor boat launch on Kangaroo Lake Road. There is a $5 launch fee and it is on the honor system. The collection box is at the launch. Kangaroo Lake is about 1,200 acres in size and is shallow. It is about eleven feet at its deepest. A shallow lake is a warm lake. One week of eighty degree weather and the lake becomes your personal heated swimming pool. The downside of a shallow lake is that you are limited to boat size. Smaller fishing boats (lees than 19ft), jet skis, jet boats, canoes and sail boats are perfect. At the back to the property there is ample place to park your trailers. We have just purchased two canoes that will be available for rent next season. Children will love paddling and swimming in the warm waters of Kangaroo Lake, catching minnows right off the dock in front of the cottage. The lake also holds a variety of larger fish like bass and pike. This is a great location for biking, hiking and close to all the downtown amenities of Baileys Harbor and Egg Harbor. Shops, restaurants, galleries, cafes and the marina and beach are only a few minutes away. If you rent one of our other properties and would like to have access to Kangaroo Lake, why not consider renting Carraigeen as well? It is not a bad – several of our previous Guests have done this. Come enjoy our recently renovated 1,500 sq. ft. lake house on Kangaroo Lake. This home maintains its original 1940's cottage charm with the classic Door County stone fireplace(non functioning), cedar walls, and wood floors. The house comfortably accommodates 8-12 guests with 4 bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms. The dining room has a lakeside view and seating for 12. There is plenty of space for outdoor dining, lawn games, and relaxing. *Satellite TV and WiFi provided*. The first floor master bedroom has a queen size bed, its own private bathroom and a patio facing the lake. The upstairs has 3 bedrooms and another full bathroom. The first bedroom has 2 twin beds, the second bedroom has a full bed, and the large third bedroom which faces the lake has a queen size bed and full futon. There is also a queen size sofa bed in the living room and a half bathroom on the first floor. The fireplace is beautiful but not functioning. Kangaroo Lake is an 1,156 acre, spring-fed lake with a maximum depth of 12 feet. Catch fish from the dock, causeway or one of the boats provided (canoe, kayak, paddle board, and fishing boat). The lake's sandy bottom is ideal for wading and playing in the water. The water temperature is nice and warm around 15 degrees warmer than Lake Michigan. *The dock will be put in around May 20th and will be taken out around October 15th each year. If you choose to stay prior to May 20th the dock and fishing boat will not be available. The canoe, kayak, and paddleboard will still be available to use.* The lake house is just minutes away from a golf course, restaurants, breweries, wineries, shops, and entertainment. There is much to do in Door County, but you may be content to spend the day at the lake house, playing in the water, boating, canoeing, kayaking, paddle boarding, fishing, or just relaxing. At the end of the day enjoy watching the sun set over the lake or sitting by the campfire. This property is walking distance to Kangaroo Lake. Featured on Travel Wisconsin! NEW AC installed in April of 2019! I have two kayaks for rental as well. This is an A frame cabin with a loft area that has 3 beds. There is an additional bed downstairs. The backyard has patio and is completely secluded by trees that surround it. It is a short drive (roughly 10 minutes) to the shops, restaurants, ice cream/candy stores, and the Lake Michigan Harbor. There is so much around to do, kayak, snowmobile, ice fish, regular fishing, hiking, biking and so much more! It is available all year round with a cozy wood burner. The snowmobile trails run right through with plenty of parking on the lot. Across the street is a great restaurant/bar that hosts events and has delicious, reasonably priced food. This place is great for families, friends, or a couples getaway. Early check in is ONLY available if the cleaner gets it cleaned early. I will notify you if early check in is available the day of. I cannot guarantee early check in otherwise. Normally she does have it ready early but I can’t make promises. :)

` Welcome to the "new Sunflower cottage"! Mike and Kathi Stang have been vacationing in Sunflower cottage for 17 years. When they purchased Sunflower last October, they knew what they wanted to do with Sunflower...brighten it and add storage features for guests. They spent some time at IKEA, and found the latest storage units to furnish their new home. The result is a bright, sunny, very functional space. Sunflower sleeps 6 with a queen bed in the MBR. The bed "pops-up" so luggage can be stored below. The new shelf and basket storage units in each BR allow for optinum organization. The 2BR has a new bunk set. The corner couch in the living room, has an easy pop-up panel that creates a queen sofa sleeper. There is also a storage feature for extra bedding. Mike and Kathi love to cook when vacationing in Door County. They have added extra storage features to the kitchen, as well as all new dinnerware, glasses, silverware, and gadgets. They also added a pot rack so the new set of "non stick" cookware can be stored and out of the way. Bright sunny windows with views of the lovely Maxwelton Braes golf course and easy access right off Highway 57 in Baileys Harbor. Two furnished covered decks with gas grill, a vaulted ceiling over the great room, floor to ceiling local stone wood burning fireplace. The dining area also enjoys a wall of windows and there is a convenient large galley kitchen filled with cabinetry, counter space and great appliances. There is a separate half bathroom and separate laundry room with washer and dryer on the upper floor. Bedrooms are located on the lower floor. The master bedroom with king sized bed includes large windows and access to one of the covered decks, and has a large private master bathroom and walk in closet. The second bedroom is light and airy with a queen sized bedroom and closet. The third bedroom overlooks the golf course and is furnished with a comfortable queen sized sofa bed and has a den feel, with door to covered deck. Beaches, parks, theater, music, Farmer's markets, hiking trails, water sports are all within 5 minutes of the condo.

We built our dream home on a gorgeous 12 acre property. It is very comfortable with great views out large windows. We love watching the sunsets from front deck and hanging out on back patio watching the stars. The home has all the conveniences you would expect in a custom built new home with large kitchen and 2 story great room. Vaulted ceiling with stone fireplace and hardwood flooring make it warm and comfortable. A large tiled shower in spacious master bath. All bedrooms are very large and laundry room has front load washer/dryer. Master bed is king size with walk in shower and closet. July can get hot in Door County and this home has new central air conditioning so you can sleep well and be rested the next day. The location is super convenient for getting around and exploring all the towns in Door County yet peaceful and quite at the end of the day away from all the hustle and bustle. The large front windows overlook a natural meadow full of daisies and the native plants. The back yard looks into a large wooded forest. There is also a wonderful nature preserve to explore within walking distance called Heins Creek Preserve. It's walking trail goes across ancient sand dunes and a winding creek connecting Kangaroo Lake to Lake Michigan. You will definitely enjoy your stay in the ultra comfortable home while having a great summer vacation in Door County. We only rent our home for 2 weeks while we are away, but have family in town to assist if there are any questions. We love to share our slice of the Door County dream while away. Walk a little further and explore the Heins Creek Nature Preserve, with it's winding creek that flows between Kangaroo Lake and Lake Michigan. In the spring and fall you can often watch trout and salmon spawning in the shallow stream. The property is located on a 3.5 acre lot with 250' of gorgeous shoreline. The home is located on a point with views to the south of famous Cave Point. This new home has a large master bedroom and master bath on the main floor with walk in tile shower. There is a great room centered in the home with 18' tall masonry fireplace. A 60" flatscreen LED TV with Dish TV is all set to watch your favorite shows. All floors on the main floor are wood or tile. The kitchen is very roomy with Wolf range, 2 refrigerators, dishwasher, cherry cabinetry. All countertops in the home are granite. VRBO includes tax for state and county taxes on your quote, but the local room tax is billed after the booking. Door County's local room tax is 5 1/2%. The location is perfect. You are 10 to 15 minutes to just about anything you want to do, but you are in a quite peaceful setting. I grew up in Door County and chose this location to build our dream home. I like to be relaxed without hearing a busy highway, traffic and lots of people when I get home. You will love the location. If you like to hike there is a nature preserve that boarders our driveway. It has a great path that goes through the woods and along a creek that runs from Kangaroo Lake to Lake Michigan. You can also take long walks down the beach, but with the water level rising the beach is getting smaller and you may need to get your feet wet in places. Upstairs are 3 more bedrooms and a large rec-room with ping pong table. Patios are bluestone and there is a large fire pit overlooking the water. Sit around the fire at night and share stories under the starry skies. I have family that live 2 minutes away should you need help with anything. It is hard to find a home of this caliber with such privacy and breath taking views. We know you will cherish your stay here.

This lovely Door County cabin is a beautiful home located in the town of Baileys Harbor, Wisconsin. It sits on 3-1/2 wooded acres in a secluded, but not remote location. The entire cabin is available to our guests. There are two bedrooms, with very comfortable queen sized beds. The skylight and large windows in the cabin means that the space is always full of sunlight. We have a lovely, huge firepit on the property for your use and there is a flame view propane stove in the living room for those cool evenings. The cabin has central heating and central air conditioning. We are pet friendly. We have a company called Mosquito Squad spray the acreage with pet and people friendly spray to keep mosquito and tick populations down -- and our guests tell us that it works very well!

You will feel the cool and soothing breeze from Lake Michigan directly out your front door. Accommodations have all been updated throughout including new beds in all rooms, new linens, pillows and rugs. Included are: master bedroom with king sleigh bed and plantation shutters (ceiling fan to come) a bedroom with one queen bed, another bedroom upstairs with two new Jenny Lind twin extra long beds including new mattresses and two full baths. Updates in baths include new rain shower heads and master includes blue tooth speaker shower head. New rugs & shower curtains throughout. Also, there is a bath and four twin beds located above the garage with new linens, pillows, rug and plantation shutters. Two remote controlled ceiling fans are being added in this room along with antler chandelier. There is a queen sleeper in the great room along with a reading nook above. In the Guest/Boathouse there is a queen sofa sleeper and full bath – new rain shower head. There are newly tuck pointed fireplaces in both the main house and boathouse which also has a full wet bar including new microwave, stainless steel wine fridge and seating area in front of the fireplace – included is a sun room with spectacular unobstructed views of Baileys Harbor and Lake Michigan. There are two ceiling fans and a window AC unit along with a sound system and a new flat screen TV including DirecTV in the boathouse. DirecTV satellite service is included in the sun-room and great room of the main house. There is also a stereo receiver in the great room that has direct USB hookup for your iPods or smart device audio & speakers. The kitchen has a new large stainless steel sink, faucet and soap dispenser along with refrigerator/freezer, new electric range with convection oven, dishwasher and coffee maker. New small appliances have also been added for your cooking pleasure. There is a laundry room off the kitchen with a new washer and dryer. Moving outside you will find expansive grounds for all kinds of lawn games and even a small tennis court to hit a few balls around. This is not a regulation court however. Included is a fire pit and chairs for afternoon relaxation along with both a gas and charcoal grill for your convenience. The boathouse has a large concrete pier to sit outside on, but due to low lake levels, jumping off the pier is strictly prohibited. Water shoes or sandals are recommended for entering the rocky shore while sand beaches are located at both the north and south ends of Baileys Harbor. You can also walk to Maxwelton Braes Golf Club (open to the public). Dogs are welcome in the house and to use the two run kennel located near the garage. If your pooch tends to bark a lot, please do not leave them unattended so as not to disturb the neighbors. There are great restaurants, shops and charter fishing less than a mile away in Baileys Harbor. Within seven miles, you can visit the towns of Egg Harbor, Fish Cree, Ephraim, Sister Bay and Jackson Port. Kangaroo Lake, Door County’s largest spring fed lake is also just one mile away. The properties history goes back in time to the early 1900's with the original painting studio of Fredrick Victor Poole on the property with the modern day home. Frederick Victor Poole was one of Door County's first well-known artist that created with another, the area's first school for the visual arts.
